Between Mind and Body: The Art of Awareness

In Chiang Mai, I met Thomas. I’m still reading his book. He has been practicing meditation for over thirty years, and in one of our conversations, he shared an interesting story: one day, he got irritated with a mechanic. The discomfort was so intense that it triggered anger. What changed after all these years of practice? Awareness!!

He understands that emotions are a natural part of being human, but he has learned to step back, questioning why, and finding a way to redirect the unpleasant emotions.

We do not seek perfection but progress. Throughout life, we will be challenged by countless experiences and drink from many sources. Each one can serve as an elixir for our evolution—if we know how to direct it wisely.

So, does the mind control us, or do we control the mind? Neither. We are not our body, nor our mind. We simply exist in the space between these two forces.

A consciência!!
